COMPANY HISTORY

Door Control Services, Inc. has installed and serviced automatic and manual doors since 1973. We are proud of our reputation as the industry leader and strive to maintain that role by providing the best possible service and products to our customers. Each of our service technicians is trained to diagnose and repair every component in any automatic and manual door system.

Door Control Services, Inc. has worked to build the most comprehensive door service company in the industry. Over ninty-five technicians and sales representatives receive extensive training in order to maximize the safety and performance of every door system.

Our mission is to provide our customers with the convenience expected from their automatic and manual doors while maintaining the latest safety standards that their patrons deserve.


1973 - Don Gilchrist purchased Door Control Services for $10,880.
              Began manual door repair.

1981 - Began automatic door repair.

1984 - Door Control Services became incorporated.

1988 - Moved to Ben Wheeler.

1990 - 'Most Improved Performance' from Besam.

1991 - 1st place Besam Distributor.

1992 - 4th place Besam Distributor.

1993 - 5th place Besam Distributor.


1994 - 4th place Besam Distributor.

1995 - Door Controls established for wholesale of selling parts.

1996 - Reached $5 million in sales.
             Rebuilding auto operators and controls.
             Western Glass started.
             3rd Place Besam Distributor.
             Top 10 Customer Award from BEA.

1997 - 1st place Besam Distributor.
             Top 10 Customer Award from BEA.

1998 - 1st place Besam Distributor.
              Top 10 Customer Award from BEA.

1999 - 2nd place Besam Distributor.
             Top 10 Customer Award from BEA.


2001 - Installed automatic doors for 70 Food Lion stores.

2002 - $10 million in sales.

2003 - DC One first sold in Jewitt, TX.
              Top Distributor Award from BEA.
              $1M Distributor Award from Horton.
              First Annual Golf Tournament - employees only.

2004 - Construction of new 2-story building.
              $16 million in sales.

2005 - First Golf Tournament benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
              Low Places lodging facility built.

2007 - $25 million in sales.


2008 - Top Door Alarm was developed.
              $1M Distributor Award from Horton.

2009 - $1M Distributor Award from Horton.

2012 - $33 million in sales.
              Top Distributor Award from Record.
              Crossed the 200th employee threshold.

2013 - Crossed the 300th employee threshold.
              10th Annual Golf Tournament benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
              Overhead Door & Dock Department developed.

2014 - Mike Fisher became President of Door Control Services.

2015 - The company split into Door Control Services, Inc. and Door Controls USA, Inc.

2016 - Acquisition of Universal Automatic Doors of Texas, Inc. of Floresville, TX
